Our Team
It is them, artisans and local people, who make Africana Skincare possible
Africana Skincare Artisan Collaborators
Rascharles
Rascharles transforms the natural calabash into a unique and original design to make the packaging of our products. He is also the creator of our calabash candle holders.
Paul
Paul uses raffia (Raphia) to create one of our handmade cover designs. Paul is also the creator of the corn husk bag.
Maa
Maa (meaning “mother”) uses a local material called elephant grass, also known as Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach). One of our goals is to involve more women weavers in the creation of our packaging.
Gatuso
Gatuso is in charge of producing our handmade spatulas as well as varnishing and polishing the calabashes.
Joseph
Joseph is in charge of engraving the logo on the calabashes and spatulas.
Calabashes
We collaborate with several calabash suppliers. Depending on the season, it can be difficult to find a specific type of calabash, which is why we have developed relationships with a broader network of local calabash suppliers.
